Boons and Banes!
Boons and Banes are a currency that you use to get involved with our gameplay. Spend them on items to help the GM or the players. Here is how:
Acquire boons or Banes:
You can acquire boons or banes by (1.) winning a prediction on the Discord server, or (2.) purchasing them during a stream.
1. Winning a prediction:
On our Discord server (Join here), navigate to the Predictions channel. There you can make a bet on who will be the first to accomplish something. For example: Rich will be the first to roll a critical strike, or Olivia will be the first to roll with fear. You may only make 3 predictions in a given stream. If your prediction comes true, you win a boon or a bane. You will be DM’d in the Discord asking which you would like.
2. Purchase a Boon or Bane:
On YouTube (and on Twitch once we get there) you can purchase boons and banes through the superchat for $5 each. Simply superchat a message at the $5 amount (feel free to taunt the players or GM with said message) and you will be DM’d in the Discord and asked what you’d like.
3. Boons and Banes Carry Over:
Your unused boons or banes will carry over until the next session if you don’t get to use them.
Boons & Banes Cards are onscreen during the stream!
Boons and Banes cards come in two primary flavors: Instants and Tokens. Here is how they work:
Tokens:
These cards live beyond the current episode and can be triggered in a variety of ways. They are tracked through our Discord in a special channel. Whoever claims the token will be recognize for doing so in Discord where the token is tracked for ownership and usage. Tokens are infrequent and have legendary status. More on these below. Some are listed below, but there are new ones being made every week. Buying and using a token will add your name to the ledger for that token in Discord.

Instants:
These cards are used as soon as they are claimed by somone in the chat. Once they are used they are shuffled back into the deck. They might appear again, but it may not be for a while. Instants come in Common, Uncommon, Rare and Legendary frequency. The list of instants is constantly growing and the more of them we have, the less frequently you will see them so make sure not to miss them.
Some Cards Currently in circulation
This card is triggered when it is claimed in chat
The purchaser of this card can designate a player at the table to receive a roll on the consumables table in the Daggerheart Core Rule Book. The player will roll a number of d12’s equal to the number shown on the card and the item will be theirs to use when they wish. The are other denominations of this card in the deck.
If you need clarity on a card that is in circulation, you might find it here. If it is not listed, please hop on discord and ask.
These cards are hiding in the deck and may appear at some point. If you claim one, you can hold it for a future session. Your acquisition of the card is recorded in The Hand of Fate channel on the Discord and when you use the card, it is recorded in the Divine Ledger Forum. This is a very special honor. Here is why:
Each Token card’s image will be its own forum and anyone who uses that card is added to the ledger. The episode, timestamp and a brief summation of how your use of the card affected the narrative is included.
This card is triggered at will by the holder.
You may request lore drop to occur. This will trigger a post to be created in the Hand of Fate channel on Discord. The lore that will be released will be specific to the current campaign and the world of Vesper at large. The lore provided will be based on whether boons or banes were spent.
Instant Cards
This card is triggered when a boon is played.
When a boon is played, the holder of this card can secretly taint the boon. The boon will play out as intended, but with a surprise, negative side-effect. This could be a curse on a weapon, a reaction to a potion… who knows. The GM will create the negative effect.
*will not trigger a death move
